Hi Freudi:
Thanks for your post.
I retried four times over the past three days, and the issue
remains.
On the last attempt today, I took another Windows 2000 laptop that
has not been used for a few months, and I tried to update both
systems side-by-side while they accessed the Internet using the same
network. The old laptop updated without incident, but the
problematic one still failed at the download stage with the same
error in the log file.
Since both machines used the same network and were at Microsoft
Update at the same time, I'm thinking something is wrong with the
computer's data.
I looked at the KB link that you suggested, but it instructs to use
Microsoft Update, and that download fails, too. Is there another
way to update the Root Certificates, or do you have any other
suggestions?
Thanks,
~ Mark
