my linksys router has a blocklist of websites and keywords i setup. none
of them have anything (that i know of) to do with microsoft. it was a
list of spam websites that some employees had been browsing to and i
wanted to put a stop to it. as soon as i deleted the blocklist MS update
works fine. i was reading somewhere else on the net that MS is using
Akamai now for load balancing and that while MS nor their URL supports
spam, that Akamai has been known to host services of companies that the
router or some spyware programs may seek to block.
so go through you router blocklist, IE's blocklist for websites, and
check what antispyware/malware you've got running that may be blocking
WU/MU.
hope all this helps,
Dave
