Since you svchost.exe is consuming 99% CPU, then previous post is probably
not your problem.
Everyone has this problem.
Try this:
1. Control Panel | Automatic Updates
2. Set to Notify of downloads.... (option 3)
3. Open SERVICES.MSC (Start Menu | Run .... services.msc)
4. Double click on Automatic Updates.
5. Change Startup Type to Disabled, click Apply.
6. If Status is Started, click Stop button, then click OK
7. Do the same for BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service).
Now you should not get that buble warning. Anytime you want to download
updates (or even check), you will have to undo the SERVICES.MSC changes).
And then put them back after you're done.
