Microsoft update injured my computer

Hi There - can anyone help? XP Professional

I am runnung automatic updates and after I closed down my machine last time
and the updates were installed, my machine will now only boot in safe mode.
System Restore and Last Known Configuration have no effect, it still starts
in safe mode.

How can I find out which update has caused the problem and uninstall it, or
how can I load the drivers one by one so that I can isolate the problem

I hope its not as serious as the people in a previous query whose systems it
killed
