Contacting support as per the instructions given to get help specifically on
windowsupdate unfortunately did not resolve anything either. My only response
was from somebody who said I should contact an MS professional as winupdate
support is really not technical and more customer service oriented. Whatever.
I guess this means pay up to reach somebody who can help?
This isn't rocket science. This is a fresh clean unattended install of XP
with SP2 withall winupdate fixes integrated and an install of office 2003 w/
SP2 plus all hotfixes integrated (admin point install from RunOnceEX.cmd in
XP setup). There is nothing exotic about how I set this up, pretty straight
forward as I do not like to complicate things when setting up an unattended
install. This can easily be recreated. All fixes are detected as installed by
msupdate including the office service pack, only the remaining post-SP2
office 2003 hotfixes (which indeed are installed properly) are still listed
as needed to be downloaded as critical updates.
