Microsoft Update Pages - Browser Locks Up

O/S: 98SE. ISP: AOL (7.0).

Mentioned this in an earlier post, but the problem has taken on a life of
its own:
AOL locks up - stops responding - apparently always upon any visit to any
Microsoft site related to updates, and must be shut down via Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Any ideas or suggestions?
