Is the Microsoft Update Site Working?

I'm getting the Error number: 0x80072EE7 when I launch Microsoft Update.

I don't have any static IP entries in the Hosts file.

Does anybody reach the scan-for-updates page?

My link to microsoft update works just fine... doing a search for error
number 0x80072EE7 yields this KB Article from microsoft support:
