Microsoft Update v Windows Update

Is there any description of what apps are covered by Microsoft Update?
The main page just says "Windows, Office and other Microsoft
applications."

Also, WU gives you options to (1) auto update, (2) auto download and
manually choose to update, or (3) notify only, so you can select updates
to download and install. Does MS Update give you the same choices?

I wondered the same things and so I experimented.

It looks to me like there is no difference between them. They give all
the same screens, and both seem to update MS Office as well as Windows.

If I'm wrong, let's hope there are people here who will correct me.

Currently Office XP(2002), Office 2003, SQL Server, Windows Defender
definitions. Might be more in future.

Thanks. I think, at least for now, that I'll stick with going
separately to WU and then to OU.
