Microsoft update virus security issue (W2k SP4) error: 0x8DDD0002

I had posted a message over a week earlier regarding this issue on
win2000.general. I'm trying again & posting on security.virus. The website
address and the message I get is pasted below the XXXX bar.. I never had
this problem using Windows Update with administrator status. I do use
Firefox but I accessed the
Microsoft update website with Iexplorer Ver. 6.0 - otherwise I get a
rejection message advising I must access with Iexplorer ver. 5 or above.

NOTE: I was able to download the MS scan tool to detect specific worm/virus
agents & verified none, including Zotob, were detected (before sending this
message & after receiving the error msg. below.

Can anybody advise why I am getting error number: 0x8DDD0002 Does it have
anything to do with MS support protocol changes for Windows 2000?

Error number: 0x8DDD0002] To install updates from this website, you must
be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group on
your computer. If you use Windows XP, you can see if you are an
administrator by going to User Accounts in Control Panel.

administrator for help with updates.

For any W2K users who have not found a fix for this issue, here's one I
found that worked just fine for me! Good Luck!

QUESTION: What's wrong with the MS 'experts' who never responded to my post
