I can only assume that MOLBIOL was referring to the troubles almost everyone
is having with WGA validation tool.
My problems the other day were that when I went to windows update(express),
the WGA tool was there to download(actuall ws probably already downloaded, KB
showed as zero to download). I would always get a "failed to install "
message after tring to install. Rebooting did not automatically install the
downloaded updates. I am using XP home ed.
Tried one of the suggestions on this message board to alleviate the problem,
and when I went back to update(express), nothing came up as needing to be
installed (my update history does not show that WGA was installed... should
it show up in the history?).
Went to custom update, downloaded 3 optional updates(912945,904942,912475),
but now they do not install. Reboot and retrying did not work.
Has MS come up with any viable solutions that will help the majority of us?
