Microsoft updates failure code is said to not exist

One of my updates failed. The message code is 0x8007F001. However, there is
no such code. It is on using in backoffice transfer (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTPP
(KB842773). I am using Windows XP. What can I do?

The exception 0x8007F001 means
"Setup cannot update your files because the language\installed on your system is different from the update language."

What language edition of XP do you have?

In Internet Explorer> Tools, click Internet Options, and then click Languages....
If this box is empty, add at least one language -- your language.

Error 0x8007F001 is:

STATUS_FAILED_LANGUAGE_TYPE
Setup cannot update your files because the language\installed
on your system is different from the update language.

I see that you are not the first one with this problem for the
KB842773 update:

I suggest you download and install the KB842773 from here:

Be sure to select correct language for the download.
