The only other thing I can think of would a keyfinder.
There's one called Magical Jellybean Keyfinder
Typing in Vista Keyfinder in google came up with a Digg article about this
software.

Note this is a legal program that doesn't generate keys, it merely tells you
what key you already have.
So I'm assuming the PC you bought was a "self-built" PC then?
