Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error message

Unable to log into Internet Explorer, or hotmail for that matter. I am
current on all Windows Updates. Thought that yesterday's update to Realplayer
may be the problem and uninstalled it, but without success. I am unable to
find an answer on all the posts so far. Please help.
