Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 FAILURE...Error Code: 0x800F0102

Hi,

Yesterday I upgraded my OS from ME to XP SP2.

Anyway, I just ran the windows update wizard for downloads and several were
found and installed successfully EXCEPT for "Windows Installer 3.1."

I tried to install it about 6 times but I continue to get the following
error message: "Installation Failure Error Code: 0x800F0102."

I tried searching the knowledge base for this error code and download name
but cannot find any documentation. Does anyone know what may be causing the
download failure and how it can be resolved?

Ummmmmmm, I don't mean to be a pain, but I see no one has responded to my
post for 3 days now.

The Microsoft Update Icon is loading in my system tray every single day with
the same Update notification for the Windows Installer 3.1, but no matter how
many times I initiate the "Install" it FAILS.

I cannot find resolution for this update error number in any Microsoft
Documentation. Would somebody PLEASE respond to my problem.

You're using the web interface to newsgroups which provides a search tool.

Try a search? E.g. press Alt-7 type your code and press Enter.

Hmm... too many hits? Try adding MVP as a filter term and retry...
