Microsoft Windows Update acan not update - error 1058

I get as far as downloading XP sp3, but when installing i get an error
message Error Code: 0x8024402C. How do I solve this?

Hello Venice,

Do a manual visit to Windows Update with Internet Explorer.
[ Start > Windows Update or open IE, click Tools, Windows Update ]
When the installations fail, close IE.
Now go to Start > Run > type in

%windir%\windowsupdate.log
Click OK or press Enter
Please post the last 50 or so lines of the WindowsUpdate.log

0x8024402c

-2145107924 WU_E_PT_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED Winhttp
SendRequest/ReceiveResponse failed with 0x2ee7 error. Either the proxy server
or target server name can not be resolved. Corresponding to
ERROR_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. Stop/Restart service or reboot the machine
if you see this error frequently.

I have execly the same problem with error 1058, when starting Windows
automatic update in services.msc.

Just found on other forum the solution for this error, just fallow
instructions:

Go to Start>Run key in services.msc and click on OK or hit ENTER.
Right-click on Automatic Updates then select Properties. Click on the Log On
tab. In the Hardware Profile field (at the bottom), if the Service status is
Disabled for your Hardware Profile (probably is Original Configuration),
click to highlight the Hardware Profile in this field, then click on the
Enable button and then click on Apply. Now, click on the General tab and
click on Start under Service Status.
