I had microsoft word working properly a month ago. I am now having problems
retrieving microsoft word. What would I have changed on my computer to not
let me access.
When I try to retrieve a word document, a pop up box saying now installing
microsoft word. Another pop up says to install CD ROM, I do not have a CD to
install. Then says not installed for current user.
HELP!!!

Laura, don't know what happened, but why don't you have the CD for Word?

The easiest solution is to repair or reinstall Word. Without a CD any
repair/reinstallation is impossible.

Please provide more details and perhaps we'll be able to redirect you to a
more appropriate Newsgroup if we believe they can be of assistance. This
Newsgroup is dealing with Windows Update issues (hopefully).

Thank you.

I have had my computer for three years. I got this computer from my old
employment office, which the business has been closed. I had changed some
information on the computer. The system information-system name was changed,
the user name was changed and the computer name was changed. How can I
change it back. I did the computer restorer back to a certain date, but it
has not chaged the system information.

Okay, that explains what the problem is, but how do you undo it! I don't know if you can.
You have no disks, possibly no disks even for the operating system. Perhaps someone on the
General Windows XP newsgroup may be able to assist with regards to undoing what you've
done.

Hi,

Why not try Advanced Word Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/awr/ ?
It recovers several important Word documents for me and is really
helpful!
