I'm running XP/SP2 with Word 12 etc. Is there anything in Works that I might
want to use around the house? Does it use much memory?
Thanks...Dan

Not sure how this is an "Update" question and I assume by "Works" you mean
"Microsoft Works".
You might look here:

http://www.microsoft.com/products/wo...s.aspx?pid=001

For a description of what is in the latest Microsoft Works.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for

WORKS is a basic integrated program with a decent word
processor, but not as powerful as WORD. It also has a flat
file spreadsheet and a flat file database. Excel and Access
are more powerful in that they can handle more records,
create reports and do math operations that are not part of
WORKS.
But for home use and school work, at least to the high
school level, WORKS will do what is needed for less cost.
But MS does offer the Student/Teacher version of OFFICE for
about 5-% more than WORKS Suite.

WORKS Suite includes WORD.

I'm not sure how you can be running Word 12 - it hasn't even been released
to Betas testers yet AFAIK!
The latest version of MS Word available at retail is Word 11 - or Word 2003
(the inclusion of a Service pack does not upgrade the version number).
