Has Microsoft discontinued its ftp. download site? I've been trying to log
in to their site via one of my "favorites" link and the connection keeps
timing out or says that I don't have permission to permission to vie I've
never had a problem accessing the site before. And I can log onto other ftp
sites with no problem. Perhaps my link has been altered. Can anyone please
give me the correct ftp site address?

Thanks and blessings

Works fine, with both IE and Firefox...

Did you mean: Int. Connection> Settings> choose FTPServer> Edit ?

Under Windows Firewall, this is what I found. So I pasted Windows ftp
address
in the place where it says "name or IP address of the computer hosting this
service on your network". But when I tried to navigate to the ftp site, it
still says I don't have permission...

And yes, I have been using the same address, ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/, and
have not had problems before. Why now?

Hi,

Microsoft stated a while ago that they are going to discontinue the ftp
server service, maybe that is what is happening now.

Not offering much to this thread but (FWIW) it still works fine for me
with either IE or an FTP client.
