I am not sure if this is a way of someone saying I should not be on WLM after
the witching hour but as regular as clockwork I am automatically signed out
of WLM at midnight. This also has happened to my partner and a friend in
another part of the UK. We are using build 8.1.0178.00 we are also using a
Netgear DG834GT router.
Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest a solution, other
than go to bed!!

Many Thanks

Check to see that it isn't your router do the sign out (i.e. disconnection
as some form of parental control feature).

It isn't Windows Live Messenger or the Messenger network that is
disconnecting you.

Thanks Jason - we had already checked and there are not limitations in force.
In addition all other applications continue to be connected. Do you have
any other thoughts or suggestions?

Alan,

Got the same router and had a similar problem. I couldn't log on to
messenger even after upgrading to Msgr live. Logged in as Administratator on
the router and edited the inbound block in the Firewall to allow traffic.
There is a dropdown that states "allow, otherwise block by schedule" if this
is set then on the schedule page you need to tick the "every day" & "all day"
boxes.

good luck
J
