We are looking at migrating our DFS namespaces from Server 2003 mode to
Server 2008 mode. We have one remaining 2003 server to work out, and then all
DC's and DFS servers will be running Server 2008.

I've found this article that describes the process:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc753875.aspx

However, its not clear on whether this will force an initial replication. We
have quite a bit of data spread out in multiple sites, and would really like
to avoid initial replication happening across slow links. Can anyone confirm
what will happen with this procedure?
