My old PC has emails I want to get into WLM - The only export option I see is
..pst - there must be a way. How?
[ I see a number of posts here tangential to this issue, but nothing I
understand ] This must be the fundamental question for users buying new MS
PC's - is it really impossible for a lay person?

I think I have made some progress... I found OutlookExpress on my old PC, and
I was able to import the MSOutlook2002 messages into it. I can re-export
these but I have no idea where the output-file is going or what format - help
please.

Don't export anything.
Copy the WHOLE of the OE message store (and if you don't know where that is
located do Tools-Options-Maintenance-Store Folder) to a new folder on your
Windows 7 machine. Make sure that the file called Folders.dbx is included.
Then in Windows Live Mail do File-Import-Messages-Outlook Express 6 and
navigate to the folder you copied the OE files to.

HTH
