Hello All,

I am finally replacing my old, antiquated Windows Me PC with a new, top of
the line Windows Vista PC. I want to bring over all my Internet Explorer
favorites and Outlook Express emails which number in the hundreds and are
both meticulously organized in folders. Obviously, I would like to prevent
having to manually re-do all this on a new PC. If it matters, I am
currently using Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6.

Can someone tell me the best and easiest way to accomplish this? Thank you
in advance for your assistance.

Unfortunately, Windows Easy Transfer only works on Windows 2000,
Windows XP and Windows Vista computers. I've just checked. So you have
two alternatives:

- Make manual backups of all your important data on the ME system,
and then restore from those when you have your Vista computer running.
- "Upgrade" your ME computer to XP, and then use Windows Easy
Transfer to transfer your emails and internet favourites to Vista. In either case, you're bound to run into trouble. Unless, of course,
another user of these forums can fill you in as to a better method that
is far less error prone...

I switched some time ago from an XP PC to Vista and used a memory stick
(4GB) to store all these sort of items. I can't remember IE6 or OE6, but it
is easy to upgrade to version 7 at Microsoft Support. You can export
Favorites, Contacts and Messages to the memory stick and then Import to
Vista in the same way. And lots more besides.

Best wishes.
