Migration from Norton to Kasperski

Since installing Kasperski antivirus 2010 my computer is acting strangely.
My Windows securit alert is red, Kasperski is not working going in cricles
with the its configuration wizard which prompts me to restart the computer,
and this problem is still going on.
Now a new thing has emerged, I am getting th efollowing error
" Host Process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.
Windows will notify you if a solution is available."
How can I resolve this issue?

Kaspersky is much better than Norton. Norton when you remove it via
Programs and Features does not do a clean uninstall. Download all
installers to your machine locally and then unplug your network cable or
turn off your internet connection.

Uninstall Kaspersky first. Reboot as prompted. Then run this tool to
make sure all of Norton is off of your machine and that there is nothing
left to interfere with Kaspersky.

Reboot and then install Kaspersky again. Once you have Kaspersky
installed and stable, make sure you have at least the windows firewall
enabled, then reconnect to the internet and run virus definition
updates. See if this fixes your issue.
