Hello,

We have single domain and single server running Windows Server 2000 with
Exchange on a small network of under 20 computers. It is a full version of
Windows Server 2000, not an SBS.

We have purchased a new server with Windows Small Business Server 2008
Standard, and we need to migrate everything.

1) Is it possible?

2) Is there a manual or any kind of documentation that will guide us even a
little bit? (I could not find anything)

3) Can we simply join SBS2008 to the domain and have two servers? For
example, make SBS2008 run only Exchange and file sharing.

4) If #3 is not possible, what to do with the old server? (it is 32-bit and
would not support any 2008 OS)

Any advice is highly appreciated, thank you!

Hello Russ,

As far as i know, you can not go from 2000 domain to SBS 2008, as you can
not inplace upgrade from 2000 to 2008.

For SBS better post here:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

https://connect.microsoft.com/sbs08/...i/default.aspx

Also see here, maybe it gives you a hint, but better use the NG's above:
