My new Toshiba laptop came with vista. For a long time now it will miminize
or maximize randomly. On scroll bars buttons and almost anywhere. If I
reclick the same spot it will come back. It happens a lot. Did a register
clearner and restore, did not help.

HELP----Please Help

Hi,

Any chance you are hitting the windowskey+d simultaneously? Otherwise, it
may be difficult to trace what is going on. Run msconfig from the start box
and place the system in diagnostic mode. Does the problem reoccur then? If
not, then start examing what's in the startup axis.

Are you brushing the touch pad with the palms of your hand while you type?
Toshibas have functions assigned to certain areas of the touch pad which
include minimising/maximizing windows.

No, One finger on touch pad. Whem it happens it will do it every time i tap
the pad until I move to a mew spot and sometimes it will take 3 to 4 moves to
find a spot that works. It is in the computer or software, not my action.
does not do it while typing.

Thanks for the reply, If you have any ideas please respon.

I have a new Toshiba Satellite, and I was being driven nuts by windows
suddenly maximizing. After seeing Dennis' post, I looked at the
settings for the touchpad. (Double click the touchpad icon in the
System Tray at the right end of your taskbar, click the rightmost tab
"Device Settings"). By default, touching the upper-right corner of the
touchpad maximizes the active window! Touching it again will return it
to normal size. It doesn't take much of a touch, a brush from a finger
straying off the keyboard will do it.

Thanks, Dennis!
