Minimised Programs do not show in taskbar

Suddenly, when I minimise programs (Excel, Woed, Microsoft Outlook)they do
not appear in task bar. Quck launch, language bar and notification icons
appear.

Acces only possiblr via task manager.

Later, I lost the icon for internet connection from notification area.

I have Windows XP Home, with all essential updates and I am protected by
Norton Internet Security. I did an update on both few days ago before the
problem started.
