I would love to know how to do this. I hope they add this natively.

I would like to see that too, although I would also like to be sure WLMD is
still checking mail when minimized to the system tray. At one point, there
was some question about that.

My installation does run minimized at startup... but I can't now
figure out how I got it to do that!

When you have WLMD open, right click on the envelope that is sitting in the
system tray down by the clock and click on "Minimize to notification area
after closing." It will constantly check for mail.

Perhaps there is some parameter that can be added to the shortcut (you know,
in the target field) that can get WLMD to start immediately minimized. If
then that shortcut is added to the startup folder, voila, WLMD will run
minimized on startup. But does anybody know if there is any such parameter?

If you right click on either your desktop icon or on the icon that is in your
QuickLaunch and then click on Properties, click on the down arrow next to the
"Run:" area and click on "Run Minimized". That should do it.

unfortunately, setting the Run Minimized option in a shortcut won't do the
trick. You can noticed that when you hit WLMD's minimize button, it just
minimizes its window on the taskbar. It minimizes to the tray by clicking
the Close button. So, unless we're missing some "Run Closed" command, the
requested behavior (starting WLMD during startup minimized to the tray) can
only be done either through an option in the program or through a specific
command-line parameter to the shortcut. I guess it is or soon will be in the
help site, IF it will be implemented...
