Mirror Windows Update

Does anyone know if it is possible to reliably mirror the Windows
update web site (like you can using Microsoft Windows Server Update
Services). We currently have a Sco Unix server with lots of Windows
XP/2000 machines and would like to run SUS pointing to a high power
Windows XP machine but the software will not install on Windows XP
which is a bit of a pain.

You could do web content caching, such as squid. However, there are
many Microsoft update sites. There is no guarantee that client #1
will use the same site as client #2 for the .exe. If you have a
proxy/cache server that can do something like Exchange's single
storage (once copy of identical data) they you'd get what you are
looking for.

Microsoft provides WSUS for "free", which is a great deal. Purchase
the server license and be done with it.
