Missing Contact

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I just upgraded to version 2009 Build 14. Prior to upgrading , I exported my
Contacts and saved the file.
After upgrading , some contacts had disappeared , so I restored my backup
file.
The restoration omitted 1 person , so I attempted to re ad them by searching
for the email address.
The search window says that I already have a contact with that email address
( even though they don't show on my list ) so it won't let me re ad them.
Is there anything I can try ?

Go to Windows Live Hotmail and delete that contact from the address book,
then re-add that person.
