hello all
ok,I am not a new computer user, but new to Vista, and so far have had no
major issues except the Mcaffee that came w/ the computer wasnt
compatible w/ Vista and caused problems and my internet server has
changed their email port to 25 so I cant use the windows mail (still
working on that issue) But now I have noticed that when I come up on
flash sites it tells me I do not have the flash player, and cant access
site.I have downloaded the player at least 10 times,it shows the player
has downloaded on test screen, but still get same message and cant use
flash sites.Any idea's?
thanks
dakota

Use the Flash removal tool, and then try reinstalling it.

To Get Flash Player Working:

Install Flash Player (or so you think!)

Vista (32bit) go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed folder

Vista(64bit) go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed folder

Open the folder and right click on 'FlashUtil9b.exe', then left click 'Run
as Administrator.' The Flash Player installer should now start and once it
completes, Flash Player should work and appear on the uninstall or change
program list.

This issue is related to how Windows Vista's security features prevent
applications from changing registry settings (even if you are logged in as
an
administrator) you must explicitly allow programs to make certain changes to

The uninstaller fixes it as well, allowing the webpage installer at the
Adobe site to reinstall Flash fully. You can also use the full downloaded
installer instead, and your method is the same as doing that.

I find Flash can get broken by using the Disk Cleanup > Downloaded Programs
option. I am not sure if they have fixed that yet.
