I downloaded the file you suggested from
http://winvista.mvps.org/Ficheros/PNG.reg but when I right click on it I
don't have the option to merge. Could you please tell me how to obtain this
option or what other way I can use this file to fix the missing Icon problem.

Thank you, Mia

Hi,

When you right click on it, what options do you have?

Download 'REG' Association Fix And Unzip It
http://www.winhelponline.com/fileasso/regfix_vista.zip

Start > Run > Regedit.exe > File > Import > Select the Location of the
'Reg_Fix'

OK Rick and Devil, thanks for responding. Now I think I know what part of
the problem is but again don't know how to fix it. When I downloaded the
first file it shows up on my desk top as a file to be opened in note pad, so
all I get is the words. When I downloaded the the zip file, it comes in as a
little box with blue squares, but when I go to move it to the desk top it
becomes a note pad file again. This may be why I don't show a merge, as
there is nothing to merge. How do I change the setting from note pad to
registry? I know to right click and go to properties, but then I don't know
which file to use to make it a png. registry file file. I can't use import
because again it's a note pad file now not a registry file. I hope this
makes sense to you, because I do need the help.
Thank you, Mia

Whaoo, thank you Devil, it certainly worked and fixed the the graphics in
Microsoft Help...but not in some of my software programs, like McAfee virus
scanner. I have even tried reinstalling it and it alway comes up the
same...no pictures just words. Any other suggestions?
I do thank you for the help to date and really appreciate it.

It happens no matter how I open McAfee. It does the same in a few other (but
not all) programs, but mostly McAfee's the one I'm concerned with.
