Missing IUHIST.XML

I am missing the iuhist.xml file in my V4 directory. Yes, it is all
UNHIDDEN, but it isn't there, however, the automatic updates appear to be
occurring ok on one machine, but on another, the last 6 updates appear to
have downloaded but are hung up on the installation phase. This is messing
that machine up. Please give me some help on how to remedy this. Windows
2000 with SP4 is installed.

Do you have a %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log too?

If so you would have upgraded to WUv6 and then
that WUv4 diagnostic would only be relevant
if subsequently you have had a problem using WUv4
while connecting with the Windows Update Catalog.

First decide if there really is a problem.

Then, instead of opening 2 year old threads about obsolete software
how about opening your own thread, with a more specific Subject
and better symptom description and details?

BTW I'm not sure now whether even WUC still uses WUV4.
It's that archaic...

MU Catalog is now using V7 apparently...

and I just did a dir/s iu* and a dir win*.log (in %windir%)
to confirm that there are no traces of this anachronism present
with a current timestamp.
