Missing volume control in Notification area ***

The Volume control is now missing in the lower right notification area
(Vista Business). I can get sound fine (just cannot control volume). Control
panel->Sound shows speakers fine. But Taskbar & Start Menu
Properties->Notification Area do not have the Volume box highlighted to
select it. Was all working fine a while back!

Any suggestions anybody?

Hi John,

This may help you out. It will show you how to have the Volume icon not
be grayed out any more.

Opp's ignore that last posting. Just realized I also have to go to the
Taskbar & Start Menu in the control panel to re-activate them. All is fine
