Hi,
I have vista business 64x on a standalone pc. Since i have installed SP1
task scheduler and event viewer are not working anymore.
Message: MMC could not create the snap-in
I've tried about everything what i found in google, and what possible to
try. Registered dll's, checked security, installed sp2, verifyed .net
No way to get it worked.
I have only one admin account on the PC with full rights of course.
Any idea what could help????
Thanks

Check you have following keys:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\RPC\INTERNET
HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\RPC\RPCPROXY

If you find these keys remove them + restart.I know if these keys
appear in registry may cause much problems with Event Viewer and Task
Scheduler.Defaultly system never have these keys.

May not help, but...

Right-click My Computer
Select Manage

It should start up Computer Management, see if you can Event Viewer through
there.
