Mobile 5.0 upgrade conflict

I am upgrading my iPAQ 4700 from 2003 to 5.0. After download, error message
states need windows 2000 or XP or newer and cancels out. I already have
Mobile 6.1 installed, knowing sync 4 does not work with Vista. I run Vista.
Any solutions?

You need to upgrade the iPAQ from a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer, or
contact the manufacturer for a flash utility that will work in Vista. I
wouldn't try to use compatibility mode to force the flash - that could turn
your Pocket PC into a lovely little brick.
