Mobile 6.1 but not ActiveSync?

I just installed Mobile 6.1 on my AT&T Tilt. It was associated with my
laptop and with my home computer. Ever since updating to Mobil 6.1, I get
an error message when trying to use ActiveSync on my laptop: ActiveSync
encountered a problem on the desktop. Support Code:86000107
ActiveSync does not produce this error code when synchronizing files on the
home computer.

-- Laptop: Inspiron 9400, using T2250, running at 1.73 GHz, with 1.00 GB of
RAM; OS is Windows XP Pro, svc pck 3. Outlook version: 2003, sp 3

-- Pocket PC Device: AT&T Tilt (HTC product): CPU: QualComm 7201, @400
MHz, RAM 128 MB; ROM version after upgrade: 3.57.502.2 WWE, date: 07/17/08;
ActiveSync version 4.5.0 (Build 5096)

-- Home computer: Outlook version: 2002, sp 3

I have dis-associated both the laptop and the home computer, and
reassociated both with the Tilt, but the problem persists. Initially,
almost every bit of data (seems to) synchronize, except for one to three
items, for which an error code pops up saying ActiveSync was unable to
synchronize these items. This error message repeatedly comes up upon
synchronizing, and that is really annoying. Then, when I connect the Tilt
with the other computer and try to synchronize, the above error message
comes up all over again: ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop.
Support Code:86000107 So I cannot synchronize with both computers anymore.

Additionally, I am concerned that ActiveSync is not fully synchronizing, or
accurately synchronizing, all data between the three computers (home,
laptop, and Pocket PC device). Some appointments do not appear, or
sometimes others disappear, and some data/notes within a appointments is not
always updated. This may resolve itself with the solution you provide for
the first problem.

Please help me figure out how to make ActiveSync work with both home
computer and laptop. I depend on keeping accurate notes and agenda details,
and would like to rely on these programs functioning together.

Thanks, in advance, for your help!
Chris.

Hi Chris:
This problem has been reported to Microsoft. They researched it with the
assistance of WM 6.1 users who sent in their ActiveSync logs. They have
released a fix to the OEMs - now it is up to the OEMs to release the fix to
their customers. You can send feedback to HTC about this here:
http://www.htc.com/us/CS_Mail.aspx I have written to them three times in
the last month and they've stopped answering my emails.

Here's some links to some background on this:
http://www.windowsmobiletraining.com...ms/t/1708.aspx

and http://www.windowsmobiletraining.com...ms/t/1718.aspx and
https://connect.microsoft.com/feedba...&wa=wsignin1.0

If you need more links, just do a Google search for 86000107

At this point, your only solution is probably to roll back to WM 6.0

Hi chris,

I suggest that you try a Detect & Repair in Outlook. Then re-connect to sync
again. Also verify that "Advanced network functionality" is disabled on your
device. You will find this under Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC.
