Mobile Messenger - contacts on mobile devices?

When I'm using messenger on my phone, my contacts on their computers show up
fine but other people using mobile messenger show up as offline. Is it a
problem with my phone or is it just not possible for phones to communicate
through Live Messenger?

I have to admit I haven't seen or used the latest Windows Live Messenger Mobile client, but
what you're seeing is normal for the older SMS/WAP interfaces -- you only see PCs online.
