mobile sync problem with outlook 2007 (profile name is not valid)

When my mobile 5 device attempts to synchronize, it reports the error from
outlook that "the profile name is not valid. Enter a valid profile name".
(I'm using vista ultimate, office 2007, and Beta 3 mobile device centre).
I just reformatted the PDA, to ensure that this is a basic problem,
unrelated to any 3rd party software. The problem occurs every time the unit
first syncs.
Although the error message makes it sound so simple, its not clear why the
profile name is invalide, nor how to make it valid. If I click ok, it takes
me to the 'choose profile' dialogue where I should choose the profile name. I
went into outlook, and saved my profile under another name, and Outlook
doesn't note that the profile is not valid. But then when I choose this new
profile name, I continue to get the error above.

Any ideas on workarounds?

Hi Jeff,

This is a known problem in Beta 3 that we have fixed for the final release.
To resolve this problem, please uninstall Beta 3 and install WMDC 6.0,
available on the web at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx and via Windows
Update as a recommended update.

I have installed Outlook 2007 on my Machine running Vista Home Premium.
Prior to installing Outlook 2007 I had Outlook 2002. I was able to sync both
my Samsung Blackjack and My Treo 750 both from Cingular. Now both will
connect but neither will sync. This should not be this hard considering both
are using Microsoft products. I have the latest and greatest "Microsoft
products to no avail" Why Why Why? The error message I get is...ActiveSync
encountered a problem on the desktop. I have un-installed WMDC and Outlook
several times without luck. I am out of ideas. can anyone help?

I have since found out I can sync my mobile favorites but that is it.

Same issue here...favourites works, fails on the important stuff. tried USB &
bluetooth. Connecting to and browsing the mobile device works flawlessly.

same problem--can't sync with outlook. blackjack connected via usb, newest
versino of mobile device center, outlook 2003, vista business
