Hi,
I have this exact same problem & setup and its driving me nuts.
Tried a re-install of MobileAdmin - no difference.
Repaired .Net 1.1 installation (Aspnet_regiis.exe -i) - no difference
Ensured within IIS > Default Web Site > Exadmin Properties > Dir Security > 'Integrated Windows Authentication' is ticked
Also within IIS, ensured 'MobileAdmin' Properties > Virtual Directory > Application Pool is set to: "ExchangeApplicationPool"
OWA, OMA and ActiveSync with iPhone and Nokia (Mail for Exchange) work fine. Just cannot Wipe, it Times Out with the same error as the original post.
Any help greatly appreciated!

MobileAdmin hangs / times out under Exchange 2003 SP2
23-Mar-10
My client is running Exchange 2003 SP2. When they go to the Mobile Admin pag
they can bring up the user's device just fine. But when they try to do th
remote wipe the page hangs for about 2 minutes and then they get th
following
Server Error in '/MobileAdmin' Application
Request timed out
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current we
request
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed ou
Stack Trace
[HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.
If they do this more than twice then all activesync connectivity (for al
devices) seems to fail and you can no longer use the Mobileadmin utility (50
error) and we find that the Exchange Application pool under IIS becomes hun
necessitating a restart of the IISAdmin service (and dependent services)
I have asked them to de-install and re-install the latest Activesync Admi
software - but there was no difference in functionality - including after
reboot
What else can I check? I see no security problems - and all configuration
on IIS virtual directories appear correct
One final note - the server is web published behind an ISA 2004 firewall
Apart from the wipe feature - all synchronization with the iPhone device
works fine
