Mobsync - No real answer provided?

It somewhat amazes me that there are literally hundreds of websites where
people are complaining about this one service: mobsync.

It's been known to cause CPU spikes, resource hog generally and start
WMPlayer for no apparent reason.

Not one of these sites can offer a way to kill mobsync in an easy way on
Vista. In XP you could turn it off, but all options are hidden on Vista, and
an simply end task seems to be followed by an even simpler relaunch of the
service.

For me, it causes CPU spikes to the extent my mouse stops moving for a few
seconds every 10 seconds or so. My PC isn't particularly old or slow either.

I've tried one persons approach which was to rip everything out of the
registry that was related to mobsync, but no joy. Fortunately i'd backed up
my registry so I reverted it back.

Does anyone know a simple way (which actually works) of how to stop this
service?

Apologies for my rant, but my computer is becoming more and more useless.

There is definitely an answer, you just probably can't solve the problem in
a way acceptable to you. The hardware, (and drivers) that Vista runs on are
limited to a specific set. if you don't have that, you get errors like you
are seeing. Video drivers being the first suspect.
It's not like there are no systems out there running without a mobsync
error.

Ok, I appreciate what you are saying, and I wasn't trying to come across as
though MS are in the wrong because I absolutely love the Vista system.

I am confused, and I apologise now if its because I lack knowledge with the
vista system. But why would video drivers cause mobsync to play up like this?
I thought mobsync was about synchronising files across different drives and
networks?
