modem audio

i've a PCI Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart CP in my vista home premium
desktop. i use dial-up internet connection and when dialing, an error msg-
'Modem Audio Service stopped working and was closed' comes which i close -
this does not effect the connection to the 'net. any help to resolve this is
appreciated.

I would just ignore it. It appears to be telling you that you audio
connection to the speaker output is terminated.

that's ok, but its annoying u no. moreover this msg didnt come earlier. i
reinstalled the driver 2-3 times to no avail. thanx anyway
