I have a Dell E521 with 256Mb ATI Radeon X1300 Pro PCI Express Graphics Card
and a Dell 20" Black Wide Flat Panel Monitor (E207WFP). I am running Vista
Home Premium.
Most of the time there are no problems with the monitor, but occasionally
when you first turn on the PC. you see the standard horizontal scrolling
green progress bar followed by the central glowing Microsoft logo as normal,
however instead of going to the user log in screen, the screen goes blank.
The PC is still running and is sitting on the login screen (although you
can't see it) - I can use TAB TAB ENTER to shut it down and then usually it
will come up properly when I power it up a second time. Once I get to see the
log in screen it is fine and does not have any further problems.
Any ideas what could be causing this as it is a little irritating to have to
start the PC a couple of times to get it going?
