Monitor fails after downloading Windows Updates

After updating then downloading any Windows Udate my monitor stops working. I
get the message "frequency out of range". Because I have no screen the only
way I know how to turn off my computer is to simply unplug it. I start it
back up in safe mode then I do system restore and I get my monitor back. But
this is a big pain in the rear. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What update is it that you're installing that causes the problem?
If it's a driver, then if required get it from the manufacturer's site.

You have set a resolution that is not supported by your video card. Use a smaller resolution setting for your monitor in the monitor properties
