Hi,
After installing my last 3 updates for my computer my monitor will not wake
up after it is put to sleep, the CPU wakes up just fine. The three updates I
installed were VIA/S3G - Video - VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP, CXT - Modems -
PCISoftV92 Modem and Root Certificated Update. I'm assuming the promlem must
be with the VIA/S3G-Video-VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP update, but I don't know
what one it is in the Add/Remove Programs list because there are 6 items on
that list that I think have to do with the S3G Video. Do anyone know how I
can fix this or which update I need to remove to get rid of it?

These updates - they are not for Windows then?
Perhaps the manufacturer may be a more appropriate place to sort your
problem - I assume you got the updates from them and not a third party.

Where they security/critical updates or just 'upgrades' to drivers etc.
If the former what were the KB numbers?
I think you may asking your Q in the wrong group.

They were Software updates. There are no KB numbers for them.
What group should I have asked my Q in?

Difficult to say - I do not know the items that you mentioned - I am only
assuming they were perhaps driver(you give no details) updates you did. If
that is so then the recommended practice is to never download this sort of
thing from an MS site but get them from the manufacturer of the hardware or
software. I used the MS site once, a few years ago, to update a GPU - the
driver was two years older than the one I already had.
Deleting/reverting back might be an option or system restore - you may find
a restore point was set for the updates.
I am aware that one can go into the properties of such and revert back to a
previous driver via Device Manager.
As for a group, I see you are using that rather slow/archaic web interface
discussion groups - best search in there for 'hardware' or 'XP General' or
better still find a forum in the Via site and ask there.
I wish you luck
