Monitor shows "out of range" when using safe mode

First of all, I'm sorry if this question has already been asked - I've had a
look and couldn't find any information anywhere.. or if I'm posting this is
the wrong newsgroup..

When ever I try to load my computer into safe mode, I get the screen up
showing all the drivers being loaded(?) down the screen - it gets to
crcdisk.sys, stays there for a few seconds, then goes to a blank screen - my
monitor then displays "out of range" - the machine itself boots up into safe
mode (I presume), it's just I cant see anything - normally, it works fine,
just in safe mode.

I've had the machine for just over a year and had to use the safe mode maybe
a month after buying it, and it went in fine - I'm using the same monitor
now as I was then and have tried the highest resolution and lowest, but
nothing seems to work. I've also tried hooking my machine up to four
different monitors, but they all show a similar message (all LCD monitors).

I've searched the net for a solution and have given up - any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks

Daniel

Well, look, if it's out of range just get closer. Or you could
try a couple of clicks more elevation.

Lol, ok, just hit F8 and boot VGA Mode, then set the resolution
to something reasonable. This can happen if you change monitors or video
drivers.

i dont have that option on the list...

what i do have is:
repair your computer
safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
enable boot logging
enable low-resolution video (640x480)
last known good configuration (advanced)
directory services restore mode
debugging mode
disable automatic restart on system failure
disable driver signature enforcement
start windows normally

tried "enable low-resolution video (640x480)" but that doesnt work......

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this one doesn't work???? Oh wait, I know, lol
you have an LCD monitor. If you don't have a crt handy see if your monitor
setup has an option for "scaling". Some lcd monitors are very picky about
resolutions. Plug in a crt monitor and set the video resolution to something
it can display.

Don't forget to hit F5 before windows loads or you may not get th
screen to hit F8 where yo would be presented with the following options

repair your compute
safe mod
safe mode with networkin
safe mode with comman

enable boot loggin
enable low-resolution video (640x480
last known good configuration (advanced
directory services restore mod
debugging mod
disable automatic restart on system failur
disable driver signature enforcemen
start windows normall

Failure to hit F5 before windows loading may result in just giving yo
the screen for safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode wit
command promt or start windoes normally
