Have you checked the Services list? Is the System Event Notification
Service indeed stopped? What happens if you attempt to Start it manually
from the Services list? Is that service set to Automatic?
Are you seeing any other problems with logging in or out of networks or
computers with those 12 PC's?
Just as a total shot in the dark, it may be worth your time to install the
latest Service Pack (2 for XP, 4 for 2K). I'd suggest you pick one of the
twelve, isolate it from the others (assuming they are networked) and
re-install the SP. {If you get a "already done that" message then that's
OK.} Then attempt to access MU with that one system, working with it until
you can do a full session online with MU. Hopefully that will give you the
insights needed to fix the other 11. I know, not a very appealing idea,
but working with 12 systems all at one time involves too many variables for
a decent troubleshooting attempt.
