I am having a nagging problem with internet explorer 6.
Every now and then I cannot open internet explorer 6 or Windows update.
I get and iexplore.exe-application error Can not read memory
I deleted cookies , internet history and internet files. My file page was
only set to
to 528mb and the computer recommended 766 . So I increased the file page to
800. The problem does not occur as much but it is coming back every now and
then. It gives me the choice to press ok to cancel program or cancel to debug
it. After debugging it a couple of times, my desktop will deactivate and I
can not get into My Computer file or Control Panel file. More application
errors.
Does anyone have any idesa at all . I am at a loss.
I like to thank the lots of help I have recieved already. I would be lost
without this forum. Thank you once again. By the way I am runnung xp home.
Thank you Larry F

Don't play with the virtual memory settings. That's almost ALWAYS the cause of your errors.

Right-click "My Computer", "Properties", "Advanced" tab. Under Performance section, click the
"Settings" button, "Advanced" tab, under the Virtual memory section, click the "Change" button,
and check the option, "System managed size". Click the "Set" button, click "OK", "Apply", and
"OK" your way out.
