I get repeated failures on the following:

Security Update for Windows XP (KB918439)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB917344)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB917953)

All with the error code 0x8007F01E

Can anyone out there help?

Hi, I'm having trouble with the latest update too. It switches off Firewall
and e-mail scanning and messes up my adsl boadband connection. When I tried to
print my initial response from support it notified a script error and froze
the machine. System restore puts machine back to normal. Solutions?

Updates shouldn't fo anything like this. The last time someone reported
that their broadband access was affected, it turned out to be a third-party
security product that was responsible (was it ZoneAlarm??). Please disable
all third-party anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall products. Enable Windows
Firewall for your protection. Then run Windows Update. Does that fix the
problem? If so, you might need to re-configure your third-party product
when/if you re-instate it so that it does not interfere with the correct
operation of Windows Update.
