Mouse Cursor inaccurate

I just got a Dell with 256MB Radeon HD 2600 XT video card. The mouse
cursor, is inaccurate... either I need to move the mouse a little to
the top-left or little to the bottom-right so that I can click on the
correct file or the correct maximize or close button.

Did someone have that problem before? Is it a video card problem or
is it an OS problem? the system comes with a Blu-Ray drive.

Help appreciated!

Since you didn't mention what kind of mouse you have, this is a guess:

The Mouse Pointer Moves Erratically or Does Not Respond with Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...1&PA=1&SD=HSCH
shorter alternative - http://tinyurl.com/56nmh

Otherwise, go into the Mouse applet in the Control Panel and see if you can
make adjustments there.

I had the same problem with the HD2400 video card in a Dell XPS 420. My
solution was found under Windows Updates. There was an update for the video
card listed. This cured my problem. Other people have reported new mouse
drivers have cured their problem.

I just purchased a Dell XPS 420 and was about to do something very violent to
my system because my mouse was so erratic. I found this fix on a forum and it
worked perfectly. (And I was blaming my Kensington roller ball mouse...shame)
Go to ATI and update your driver. It works!
