mouse freezes when i put a disc ino the drive

I really don't know what has caused this problem, and it could have been
after an update, but i can load my computer up, and if there is a disc in one
of the drives it will freeze the mouse.

If when the computer is booted up and i place a disc into the drive the
mouse freezes. not always. not with every disc

if i try oading as I have the sims 2 it has four discs. it will allow me to
load two but the third will cause the mouse to freezes
i am no computer buff and can't seem to solve the problem

I have had to have a complete shut down of my computer and have had to
reload because of a virus, and it seems to have started after the reload
can anyone help
